Throughout the faculty search process, the applicant status should be updated. All faculty searches, regardless of the type of position or academic unit, have the same applicant statuses. A listing of each applicant status, its description, and when this status is changed is explained in the table below.

Application Under ReviewDesignates that the application is being considered for further review. Applicants can view this status and cannot update their application materials when their application is in this status.Search committee chair or designee should update applicants to this status who have met the minimal requirements for the position.
Initial InterviewDesignates applicants who will be interviewed using Zoom, SparkHire, or another method for an initial interview. Applicants cannot view this status and cannot update their application materials when their application is in this status.Search committee chair or designee should update applicants to this status if they are being considered for an initial interview.
Secondary InterviewDesignates applicants who will be interviewed using Zoom, SparkHire, or another method for a secondary interview (if applicable). Applicants cannot view this status and cannot update their application materials when their application is in this status.Search committee chair or designee should update applicants to this status if they are being considered for a secondary interview (if applicable).
On-Campus InterviewThis status identifies the applicants who have been invited to participate in an on-campus interview (i.e., campus visit). Applicants cannot view this status and cannot update their application materials when their application is in this status.Search committee chair or designee should update applicants to this status if they are being invited for a campus visit.
Offer ExtendedThis status identifies the applicant who has been extended an offer for the position. Applicants cannot view this status and cannot update their application materials when their application is in this status.Search committee chair, hiring manager, or designee should update the applicant who is being offered a position to this status.
Offer AcceptedThis status identifies that an applicant has accepted an offer. Once the applicant is placed in this status, the applicant’s information will be transferred to Workday within 24 hours. Applicants cannot view this status and cannot update their application materials when their application is in this status.Search committee chair, hiring manager, or Dean’s Office designee should update the applicant to this status once they have accepted an offer.
Transferred to Workday for HireThis informs the search committee chair, hiring manager, and Dean’s Office designee that the applicant’s information has been transferred to Workday to continue the hiring and onboarding process.Workday will update this status after the applicant’s information has been pushed from Interfolio to Workday to begin the hiring process.
WithdrawnThe applicant no longer wants to be considered for the position. Applicants can view this status and cannot update their application materials when their application is in this status.Applicant, search committee chair, or designee can update this status if the individual no longer wants to be considered for the position. If an applicant has this status, a disposition code should be assigned to the applicant.
Not SelectedThe applicant is no longer being considered for the position. An applicant may be changed to a status of not selected upon review for not meeting the initial requirements for the position or after progressing through one or more status during the faculty search process. Applicants can view this status and cannot update their application materials when their application is in this status.Search committee chair should update the applicant status to Not Selected once the applicant is no longer being considered for the position. If an applicant has this status, a disposition code should be assigned to the applicant.
