Hiring Stage
With any faculty search, there are two possible outcomes. One is that a candidate has been selected and accepted an offer. The other possible outcome is that the position remains unfilled. Closing positions and archiving records is important to comply with university policy, regulations and laws.
Each academic unit has different processes regarding how a verbal offer and final offer to a candidate is extended. Therefore, this section provides guidance on the aspects that are most relevant to faculty search committee chairs and search committee members.
